Jungles are one of the largest and most diverse biomes in Minecraft. Here are the steps to find a Jungle in Minecraft. Also what to expect once you are in it.
This article is applicable to all Minecraft versions that include Minecraft: Pocket Edition.
How to Find a Jungle In Minecraft
Jungles are an uncommon event in Minecraft. As with most biomes in Minecraft, Jungles have no particular location, but they usually have a greater chance of appearing close to Savannas, Mesas, and Desert biomes. The huge amount of tall trees that make up the Jungles make them immediately obvious. These trees cover almost the entire roof of the jungle with their leaves.
You can find the exact coordinates of Jungle biomes using an external tool known as Biome Finder.
Jungle Trees
Jungle trees can grow up to 30 blocks tall and are usually covered in vines that players can climb. The base of the largest Jungle tree is comprised of four blocks. This lets you gather 120 blocks of wood from one tree. GSLIST The base of a tree makes a great base for building a treehouse.
The wood is a light pinkish-red hue after the tree's Jungle Wood is refined and made into Jungle Wood Planks. The Jungle Wood Planks are not distinguished by any special characteristics other than their color. They can be transformed into many tools and objects, just like all Planks. You can even create color variations for items like Doors, Boats, and Stairs.
Jungle Types
Jungles biomes come in different variations:
- Regular Jungle - Jungle Hills
- Jungle Edge
- Bamboo Jungles
Jungle Hills are more dangerous than normal Jungle biomes. It is recommended to stay on the ground when you are in the Jungle Hill until you can find the means to support your body in the air. In the Edge variants of the Jungle biome the trees are smaller and farther away. Bamboo Jungles are mini-biomes that exist within regular Jungles where the trees are smaller and it is more likely to come across pandas.
Jungle Ocelots
Ocelots are only obtainable in the Jungle biome. Ocelots can be difficult to locate due to the denseness of the bushes and trees. However they are worth the effort as they are a threat to Minecraft Creepers who try to sneak up on them.
To capture an Ocelot to catch an Ocelot, slowly approach the animal with an uncooked fish. Once the mob has spotted you and isn't escaping then stop and remain where you are. Let the Ocelots approach you and then feed them, gaining their trust.
Jungle Temples
Certain Jungle biomes house mysterious structures created out of Mossy Cobblestone and Chiseled Stone Bricks. These Jungle Temples are filled with traps and puzzles, treasures and more. You will find items such as Arrows and Bones as well as Rotten Flesh and Saddles.
Jungle Plants
Cocoa plants are a rare plant that grows on the Jungle Biome's edges. There are three kinds of Cocoa plants: a small, medium-sized, yellow-orange, and ready-to-harvest dark orange-brown types. Harvested Cocoa can be used for crafting recipes for food, altering the color of products and much more. Cocoa Beans can be used only on Jungle Wood If you intend to take it out of the Jungle to begin a farm, you should bring a handful of pieces of Jungle Wood with you.
