Minecraft Education Edition will be available on the iPad and educators will have access to it beginning next month. The educational version of the game debuted in 2016 and Microsoft states that there are 35 million users who have been licensed in 115 countries. "Minecraft Education Edition for iPad unlocks innovative and intuitive ways of collaboration and sharing, and has transformed the way our students and teachers explore curriculum projects, topics and more," Kyriakos Kouraris, director of technology for education at PaRK International School, stated in a statement. "The features facilitate profound and meaningful learning and the values that it promotes, from inclusion to 21st century skills allow everyone to make use of technology to achieve extraordinary results," said Koursaris.
Minecraft: Education Edition for iPad will be available in September. It comes with a Microsoft 365 for Education license. Teachers who do not have Microsoft 365 for Education can find out how to license the game here.
In its announcement today, Microsoft also said that the Chemistry Resource Pack developed for Minecraft: Education Edition will now be available to users playing Minecraft on Windows 10 PC and Xbox. ROBINSON'S BLOG It lets players create elements, blend them into compounds, and create periodic tables. They can also make items such as balloons, sparklers, and underwater torch using Chemistry.
