Minecraft's huge Super Duper Graphics Pack is no more after two years of delays. Mojang has pulled the visual overhaul after deciding it was "too technically complex" to implement. The developers "aren't satisfied" with the performance of the upgrade across different platforms, and decided to scrap the project rather than provide inconsistent quality.
The pack was supposed to not only enable 4K on Xbox One X, but to provide more sophisticated visual effects that included atmospheric effects, highlights and more realistic water.
There is still hope for a graphics upgrade in the future. Mojang has stated that it is "looking at other ways" to provide Minecraft an updated appearance and that it would soon be able to announce news about optimizing the game for various platforms. mpservers.net The title won't be stuck with its current look (however beautiful it might be) forever however it may take considerably longer before it is up to speed with modern technology.
