Technoblade, Popular Minecraft Creator, Dies from Cancer at the Age Of 23.

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Technoblade, a top YouTube creator who is a specialist in Minecraft let's-play videos, has died one year after he was diagnosed with a cancer diagnosis, according to a statement from his family. He was 23 years old.



Technoblade's YouTube channel posted an emotional YouTube video in which the YouTuber's dad revealed that his son had died. "He was the most amazing child anyone could ever wish for," his father said. "I really miss Technoblade."



The video on Thursday, titled "so long geeks," included a posthumous message from the creator to his followers. It was read by his father. "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. Technoblade's message revealed his real name was Alex. "Thank you to everyone who have supported my work over the years. I'm convinced Technoblade would be my first choice in the event that I had another hundred lives. Those were the most enjoyable years of my life.



On Technoblade's store online, a message says "In the memory of his passing, a portion of the profits from all online orders will be donated to an amazing organization called curesarcoma.org," linking to the Sarcoma Foundation of America.



Technoblade who's avatar on YouTube was the crown king pig currently has 10.8 million users on his YouTube channel. "I play video games too often. I may not be the greatest, but I do have hot elbows," his YouTube bio reads.



The video was shared on Thursday, with the following statement: "We, the Technoblade family, wanted to let you know how much he cared and respected his followers. Technoblade was always seeking ways to delight and reward his followers since the very beginning. Even after his eventual successes he was able to maintain his good-natured humility, competing with a charming balance between his self-confidence and self-deprecating wit. We ask that you honor his desire to keep his identity private and to prevent him from becoming famous.



The statement continued, "This past year has had a lot of bumps for our son, who was fighting stage four cancer. He didn't whine and continued to make use of his shrewd mind to beat what he believed was almost impossible odds. My son's bravery on this journey was a shining example to all of us who were privileged to be with him. We are thankful that you shared his journey with us as he completed the work he was passionate about for his beloved fans.



According to his father, Technoblade composed his final message to fans about eight hours before his death. "I don't think Technoblade said everything he wanted to say, but I think he got the main points," his father said.



Technoblade announced his diagnosis of cancer in August 2021. He told reporters that he began feeling pain in his right arm during the previous month, initially thinking it was a repetitive stress injury from playing. After some time, he realized his shoulder was swelling and thought he had a broken bone. He was then diagnosed with cancer.
