Best Locations to Mine Coal in Runescape for Members and for free to Play

Coal trucks

One of the best places for players to mine coal in Runescape is at the coal trucks located west of McGrubor's Wood (an important area for Runescape's Fishing Competition quest). There are 18 coal mines here , and three carts close by. As you mine the coal, you can place it into the nearby carts and then retrieve it later at the cart station near the bank in Seers' Village. The carts can accommodate 120 pieces of coal. However, if you own the Seers Headband it can hold up to 196 ore.

The only problem with the area is that it is not a good place for those with the combat level of less than 54. Extrememining.net There are a lot of aggressive level 27 Giant Bats that will attack anyone who is below them. However, if you've got an average combat level of 55 or higher, they won't bother you in any way. Even if your level of combat isn't that high, you will be able to stay clear of bats by moving to different areas of the mine or stand on opposing sides of the coal rocks when mining.

Mining Guild

If you have an Mining skill level of at least 60 or can attain this level through the use of stat-boosting items the Mining Guild is an excellent location to mine coal as it is located close to the east Falador bank and has 37 coal-mining rocks. The Mining Guild has two entrances one of which is in the dwarven mines, and one in the southeast of Falador. The former entrance is closest to a bank, and is depicted in the screenshot to the right. (Click on the image for a larger view. )All players whether free or members, can access the Mining Guild as long as they have the required level of Mining. If you're stuck at 59, head over to the Rising Sun in Falador and purchase a Dwarven Stout at 3 gp that will boost your Mining level by one, and allow you to join the guild. The boost is only temporary, so be sure to drink it before you go into the Mining Guild. After you have entered the Mining Guild, the boost disappears. If you decide to leave, you'll need to drink another one before returning.

East Ardougne

Another area in Runescape with an ample number of coal rocks is just northeast of East Ardougne. This is a members-only location, but it has the advantage of usually being deserted and still not too far from the southern East Ardougne bank. There are 12 coal rocks here, so you should be able to mine constantly without having to wait too long for the ore to respawn.Another advantage of this mining area is that it also has a number of iron rocks. This can be helpful if you’re mining both coal and iron to smelt together to make steel bars.

Southwest Lumbridge Swamp

If you’re a free player that can’t get into the Mining Guild yet, you can still mine coal at the mine in the southwest area of the Lumbridge Swamp. There are 7 coal rocks here in addition to 5 mithril and 2 adamantite rocks.

The closest bank to this mining site is in Draynor Village, and it is a pleasant stroll to reach it. It is still possible to make a decent run if your mining level is lower and you aren't a member.
