Avanos Medical and the FDA have issued a Class 1 recall of 629 units of the CORTRAK*2 Enteral Access System, a feeding tube placement device responsible for dozens of deaths and injuries.

Avanos Medical Nasogastric tubes, also known as Nasoenteric tubes, that were improperly placed on the market have led to 20 deaths and 60 injury incidents since 2015.
The recall is being used to alter the device's label , which instructs users to ensure that the tube was properly set up prior to feeding.
