Technoblade, 'Minecraft' YouTube Creator, Dies Aged 23

Technoblade Techblade, the most popular Minecraft YouTuber, has passed away at the age of 23 following a fight with cancer.



Technoblade his father, who is the creator posted a touching video to YouTube on Thursday, titled "so long geeks". It also included a message from Technoblade. The video was conceived by his family during his final months, but it was written by Technoblade about eight hours before his death according to his father. In the message the rapper revealed his real name: Alex.



"Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're watching this. He wrote, "I am dead," in the text that was read by his father. "Thank you to all of you who have supported my content throughout the years. If I had another hundred years I'm sure I'd prefer to be Technoblade each time since those were the most enjoyable years of my life."



In the video, his father says, "He was the most amazing kid anyone could ask for. I'm missing Technoblade."

Technoblade who has 10.8 millions YouTube subscribers, shared his August 2021 cancer diagnosis to them on YouTube.



Technoblade's family released an apology at the end of Thursday's video.



"We the Technoblade family Technoblade wanted you to know how much he loved and admired his fans and colleagues. Since the beginning of Technoblade's online presence, he was always strategizing ways to please and reward his audience," it read.



"Even after his victories, he managed to keep his charming humility. He played with a charming balance of his confidence and self-deprecating. He was averse to fame and worked hard to keep his true identity private. We would like to ask you to respect his wishes to safeguard his privacy and that of his family."



Technoblade's online store also has a message paying tribute to the singer, stating that a portion of the proceeds from online orders will be donated to the Sarcoma Foundation of America. "This online store is managed by the Technoblade family. We are thankful for the joy he has brought over the years, and we hope to continue spreading his message," it says.



A black T-shirt is one of the items available in the store. It features the words "so long geeks" beneath it.



Technoblade's family and friends have also posted incredibly touching tributes to him on the internet. Some are fellow creators and collaborates with others, while others have been watching the YouTuber for several years.



Hypixel, an online Minecraft server for minigames, also posted a powerful tribute to. He was a frequent player on that server. In a statement, founder and CEO Simon Collins Laflamme described Technoblade as "one of the most internationally popular YouTubers."



The post read, "He will be remembered with fondness, but will be deeply missed." "He was a kind, talented, passionate young man with a lot of potential. We are extremely grateful to him and thankful to be able to count him as a prominent member of the greater community. Technoblade's success is in a variety of ways tied to our success.
