Minecraft

update is on the horizon We've begun receiving weekly snapshots through again. However, things aren't quite as they appear. While 1.20 is the major update being developed, this snapshot also includes a lot of the features planned for the minor 1.19.3 update that's coming very soon. In another article, the development team stated that they're going to start releasing these minor updates more often and usually during the process of building the major ones.



We'll go over everything in this overview so you can jump in and play around with Minecraft Java Edition.





Experimental features





One of the main features of the new update process is that 1.20 features will be mixed in with the 1.19.3 features. To make the process easier for the developers, they've added a new menu item called "experimental features". These toggles allow you and developers to switch incompatible features off of the "data pack" menu. This creates a brand new world where users can experiment with and alter potentially complicated features without having them removed in official updates.





1.20 includes





At Minecraft Live on the Minecraft Live stage, all the major features in update 1.20 were announced. This includes camels, chiseled bookshelves bamboo wood and hanging signs. The items are all included in this snapshot and ready to be tested. We have a summary of the MinecraftLive announcement to take a closer look at each one.





Creative inventory changes





The creative inventory can be difficult if you don't have the full knowledge of every item in Minecraft. This update should make the process a lot easier. The tabs have been updated to keep the same kinds of blocks together. For example, rather than listing every kind of wood log, and then every wood plank it will now show every "oak" item, then "birch", and so on.



Furthermore, items that fit into different categories will now be displayed in multiple tabs instead of being forced into just one tab. Of of course, if you don't want to do any of this the search bar is still there.





New wood sounds





A nice little touch has been added to all of the different kinds of wood, as they'll now make various sounds when they are placed, broken or stepped on. My world my life They are split into three categories which are nether, overworld and bamboo. This helps to differentiate different kinds of wood and provide a little audio variety to the Minecraft world.





Bundles





This feature, originally intended for The Wild Update is finally back as an experimental feature. These simple storage solutions let you carry things of various types in one inventory slot, with up to 64 items fitting inside. It does not increase the size of your inventory however, it does make it easier to organize it and collect items you only carry a few of in a single slot. This feature has been mostly ignored since it was eliminated. To enable it in the game, you'll need to press the button.
