Minecraft doco makers upload films to Pirate Bay
"We knew that the film would come to an end."
The Pirate Bay has posted a Minecraft documentary created by the producers. They hope that torrenters will download it.
Minecraft: The Story of Mojang The first feature-length documentary made by 2 Player Productions, "just three men trying to make a living doing what they love" according to the Pirate Bay listing.
"We wanted to come here first because we knew the movie would end up here eventually and the most effective option seemed to be to start a dialogue," wrote the company.
"Torrents and piratery are ways to survive and it's unlikely to be changing anytime in the near future."
The trio encourages those who enjoy the movie to buy a DRM-free digital copy at US$8 (AU$7.69), or a DVD for US$20 (19.23).
"Maybe you don't have the money. Perhaps you'd like to test before you purchase. Perhaps you are angry with us for launching the film through Xbox Live. These are all fantastic reasons," 2 Player wrote.

"The reason we started this film in the first place was that we didn't have the funds to produce it ourselves and even after that, we invested a lot of our own money into it. It took almost two years to finish.
According to the official website, Minecraft: The Story of Mojang follows Minecraft over its first year as it increases its popularity and enters the homes of millions of gamers.
It includes interviews with industry legends such as Tim Schafer, Peter Molyneux and Tycho from Penny Arcade.
