Looking for the Hogwarts map in Minecraft? You might be familiar with the massive Harry Potter Minecraft mod which received a playable alpha version earlier this year. The one that recreates the Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry as a ginormous map and RPG game inside the vanilla version of Mojang's Block Builder. You can now go to Hogwarts in Minecraft for real.



This map is provided by the mod group The Floo Network, the team behind this huge and hugely impressive creation announced the Minecraft Hogwarts map's launch on Planet Minecraft. "Hello everyone! Prepare your wands! We've finally released our map; an interactive RPG built for vanilla Minecraft!" The post also includes the unveiling of the new download trailer. You can see it below.



The creation's humble name"Witchcraft and Magic - The Floo Network', doesn't reflect the value it can bring to the game. As you can see in the video below, just about every one of the famous features of Hogwarts and the world of the Harry Potter books are represented faithfully brick-by brick. There are pictures of Hogwarts the vast, labyrinthine network of classrooms, dungeons and halls and towers, filled with a myriad of nastinesses, puzzles, and, well, magic from the world of the Harry Potter series. Unfortunately, we're pretty sure there's no such thing as a Minecraft Hogwarts seed that will magically reproduce the Hogwarts experience, so if you're keen to explore the halls of Hogwarts Here's how to find the best Minecraft Harry Potter map and experience the magic for yourself.

Planet Minecraft has it available to download. It's worth noting, the creators recommend Witchcraft and Wizardry currently only works for the Java Edition of Minecraft (versions 1.16 - 1.16.4).



If you're running the Bedrock Edition that's available on PC but not on mobile, then you won't be able play this version.





Harry Potter Minecraft features

Where exactly can you go in this Minecraft Hogwarts map? You can explore Privet Drive, a picturesque suburb, as well as the entire Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. You will find a huge buffet packed with delicious food and candles that hang like magic when you enter its rooms. There are also numerous stairs and hallways, all decorated with portraits of famous students from the school's history and a library with a collection of massive bookshelves.



It's more than a map. You can cast spells using your magic wand and explore dungeons that are filled with magic-based challenges. You can also shop with friends at Diagon Alley or encounter some of the terrifying Dementors and Cornish Pixies. You can even play Quidditch!



The map has been updated to include a full RPG storyline, including all the Harry Potter trimmings you might think of. Everything from buying your first wand, schoolbooks and robes in Diagon Alley to learning your first flying lesson at Hogwarts. We won't ruin any of the big story surprise, but let's say you may have to use a Patronus Charm to protect yourself from potentially baddies lurking in the dark...



The most exciting part is that you can locate Hagrid, Minecraft Hogwarts' most beloved half-giant, tending to his gamekeeping duties. The mod's creators are grateful for your help and nice words throughout the development. "This map took us years to complete and without the encouragement and love, we wouldn't have come this far. We are thrilled to finally present the completed map to you!"
