The Sacred Heart, also known as the Most Sacred of Jesus, is a symbol of God's boundless love for mankind. The Sacred Heart Church celebrates this feast day on the third Friday following Pentecost. This day is a day of prayer, fasting, and celebration of the Sacred Heart's birthday. Pope Pius XIII made it an official feast by issuing the encyclical Annum Sacrum on 25 May 1899.
