Minecraft has been updated with a tribute to the streamer Technoblade who died of cancer was announced by his family this week. The splash image for Minecraft in the game's launcher now has the pig sporting a gold crown - a reference to Technoblade's Minecraft character the royal pig-man, sporting the bejeweled crown.
The tweet on Friday from the Minecraft team said that they were "heartbroken" by the death of Technoblade and that he "brought such joy to the gaming community."

We have been trying to find the words, but all of us here at Minecraft are grieving over the loss of Technoblade. He was a huge part of our community and brought so many joy. He will be greatly missed.
Technoblade was a renowned Minecraft streamer who had more than 13 million subscribers on YouTube. Technoblade was part of the hit server Dream SMP. In a YouTube clip that was published last Thursday, Technoblade's father read a message from the streamer, and they discussed the effort that went into the final video while he was struggling with cancer. As of this writing it has more than 54 million views.
Technoblade has been the subject of many tributes from streamers and other members of the Minecraft creator community. A number of fan art pieces were also posted to Twitter in honor of Technoblade in the last days.
The Minecraft team hasn't officially acknowledged the splash screen's update yet, but they've clearly pushed out this small change in tribute. The original version of the launcher image still features the pig in the exact place, but it's missing the trademark crown of Technoblade.
