To install the OptiFine Mod for Minecraft as standalone configuration (without Minecraft Forge), ensure you're running the newest version of Minecraft and then update to the latest version if you aren't. Then, launch Minecraft Launcher. Click the Launch Options tab and click Latest Release. Click the "Game Directory" button Highlight the directory and hit Control + C (PC or Mac) to copy the URL. Close the Launcher, open your browser, and navigate to the official download page for OptiFine: https://optifine.net/downloads.php. Click the Download link and click Save or OK to start the download. Take a few seconds until it is completed. Double-click the file that ends in.jar to start the OptiFine installation. GAME2HUB Press Control + V (PC) or Command + V (Mac) to copy the correct installer directory into the "Folder" field. Then, click Install and wait for the installation to complete and then click OK. To play the OptiFine version of Minecraft, open the Minecraft Launcher and click the Arrow to the left of the PLAY button. Select the OptiFine installation and click PLAY. The process of installing the OptiFine Mod for Minecraft is slightly different if you already have the Minecraft Forge mod installed. First, make sure that you have the most recent Minecraft version installed. If you don't then you can upgrade to the latest version. Next, open your web browser and navigate to the official download page for OptiFine: https://optifine.net/downloads.php. Click the Download link, click Save or OK to start the download, then wait for a few minutes for the download to complete. Then, open your Minecraft mods folder and copy the OptiFine .jar file you just downloaded by pressing Control + C (PC) or Command + C (Mac). Right-click (or Control + Click) a blank area within the mods directory and choose Paste. Now OptiFine will work with Minecraft Forge. To play the game, you need to open the Minecraft Launcher and click the arrow next to PLAY. Then select forge and click PLAY. To learn how to use Optifine only, keep reading!
