Minecraft's annual event started out as a convention, but flipped to a streaming-only format in 2017 as a way to keep the intimate atmosphere for a growing number of people. The event will now return to an in-person experience and has more details. The newly rebranded Minecraft Festival is now slated to be held at Orlando's Orange County Convention Center between September 25th and September 27th with tickets on sale beginning March 6th , at 12pm Eastern. Mojang and Microsoft will be offering plenty of activities in addition to hearing the most recent Minecraft news that include panels, exhibits, tournaments "live entertainment" and of course, exclusive merch.
Tickets will start at $65 for a single-day pass, and $165 for all three days, and everyone who attends will receive an in-game Minecraft Festival cap that works with both Bedrock and Java. Like many conventions, though there are incentives to pay more. A $225 Gold package gives you early access to panels, exhibits and the shop, while people who go all-out with the $300 Diamond package also have access to a separate lounge, a personal bag and coat check, as well as an exclusive pin and lanyard.
This is great news for fans who've not had the opportunity to meet creators and other fans. Microsoft is taking a chance with the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Although September is seven months away, it's unlikely the outbreak will be completely under control by September. The Minecraft Festival will likely go in the coming months, but you might be cautious about planning your life around it.
