Everything you Need to Know about the HUGE Caves and Cliffs Update

Caves & Cliffs Part 1 Release Date

In some unexpected news, we finally saw an official release date for the most recent update. It will be available in Java and Bedrock on the 8th of June.



It makes sense that it was released a week before E3 to allow people to take it in and not get distracted by all the announcements for games. However you can play it right now.





Pre-release

The last snapshot was deleted in order to update. The reason for this was an unexpected issue. In the meantime, we finally received a pre-release version of Caves & Cliffs



Over on Twitter, Sliced Lime, the tech lead for Minecraft announced the announcement. This was the first pre-release and vital element of development that will lead up to today.





An Update on the Mobs

Caves & Cliffs Special's most recent episode features Minecraft's Axolotl, Glow Squid and Goat.

Caves and Cliffs Beta

The Minecraft 1.17 Caves and Cliffs Beta has given players the chance to try out new features in the forthcoming update, and together with Snapshots will help players cope with the long wait.

Release date for Update 1.17

While the release date has been set for the first part on June 8th, we still don't know when the next will come. We were informed that Caves and Cliffs part one will be released during the summer, and part two will be released during the time of the holiday season.



Minecraft players were prepared to wait a while between the announcement and the release of the Nether Update. Now, we have an update window to determine when the content will be available.

Caves & Cliffs Update content

Minecraft is about to get even more beautiful and diverse, with more creative content planned for both caves and mountains.



New biomes will be created which include lush caves full of life and caves made of dripstone brimming with stalagmites.



Caves with a variety of caves is the theme. The Caves & Cliffs Update will maintain a classic feel and will have something for all.



There are plenty of new mobs coming too. The terrifying Warden is coming into the deepest and most dangerous caves.



There will be more friendly mobs go with this monstrous mob! Axolotls will be added to the water, while goats are coming to the Overworld on the new mountain ranges!

A new type of mining will arrive with the Caves & Cliffs Update that allows players to carefully remove rare and fragile artifacts brushing away debris rather than hitting things with the pickaxe.





New ore

Be on the lookout for the new copper ore as well as the stunning Amethyst geodes that can be mined for new crafting materials. With the Caves & Cliffs Update, there will be tons of new crafting recipes and blocks such as sculk sensors for detecting the movement of objects, telescopes, lightning rods, leaf platforms, and a whole lot more.





Lush Caves

A new biome! Lush Caves promise to be alive with life. They will add color and excitement to the caves and also the dangers of tunnelling.



There is a brand new tree, Azalea, which indicates the location where a Lush Cave is while on the surface.



Spore blossoms, a new block that hangs from the roof, emit particles similar to those of New Nether.



This is where you'll find adorable axolotls in water bodies too.





Redstone additions

The new sculk block can detect motion and emit an Redstone signal. It's like an motion sensor.



This new feature is going to be fantastic when it is used by skilled Redstone engineers, as it functions like wireless Redstone!





Warden

This new mob is hiding in the dark caves of new caves. The mob has adapted to the darkness, it can sense motion and has fine-tuned hearing, so be aware!

Crystals

The crystals were created from an inaccessible block. They are beautiful and useful. To develop a new recipe, first find the crystals and then build around them.



From the crystals you will get fragments that can be used to craft a telescope! !

Bundles

You might have come across broken Nether portals. However, now there are archaeology dig sites!


You can make use of brushes on a hut in order to take out blocks and reveal artifacts from the past.
