Minecraft comes with a myriad of useful applications, a lot of which teach players. It is also a great tool to make the computers we play Minecraft more intelligent. A1host.net This is what Microsoft's Project Malmo (formerly known as DNA Storage Project) is doing right now. Publicly unveiled today on the official blog of Mojang, Project Malmo has just made its open source tools accessible to all players today in an effort to assist others to improve AI in a variety of ways.
Mojang says Minecraft is the best way to teach AI to solve problems, increase spatial and temporal reasoning as well as to facilitate collaboration. Project Malmo offers a variety of opportunities at teaching artificial intelligence software and serve as an research tool that could test these theories as well.
You can download the mod for Minecraft PC or Mac here if you are interested in Project Malmo and testing it out. Although you will need to be able to code but that doesn't mean you shouldn't be worried about. Microsoft has confirmed that even beginners are able to jump in and are eager to see what people create.
