It's been a couple of months since we first heard about Minecraft Earth, the augmented real-world version of the game that gives the real world a playscape full of your blocky creations. The company said that an alpha version of the game would be out in the summer. Now, with a new trailer of the game, the company claims it will be available on iOS in the next two weeks. Android will follow "soon following that."
The launch on the iPhone isn't too surprising since we first got a glimpse of live gameplay at WWDC last month. The trailer gives a lot more details about the game. It's still worth looking at the Apple demo to check if you have any questions.
You'll have to sign up for the game for free. According to the FAQ, your device must be running iOS 10 or Android 7. The game's accessibility is limited as they adjust load to servers. However, you must be active to continue playing. If you aren't playing for seven consecutive days, a different player will get your slot. To sign up, you'll need an account with Microsoft or Xbox Live account. Once you've registered you have nothing to do other than waiting and building.
