Minecraft Snapshot 21w43a

Here's a snapshot from the blender! In this snapshot, the world generation at the edges of an old world will be adjusted for a smoother transition! This is the first version of this system, and we expect to keep improving. It is possible to preserve the result for your world for eternity if you try it now. We're aware that this will take some time. Better be safe than sorry - make backups before you attempt it!



The space below the existing chunks has been filled in with deepslate however, it is not filled with any other material. We will be adding full cave generation in this place later on If you'd like to see to have that in your world, make a backup before you try it!



Due to some modifications to the generation of terrain in this snapshot, seeds have been shuffled once more, meaning that the worlds will not appear as they did in the previous snapshot. After this snapshot, we're hoping the seeds of the world to be stable.



Did we mention that it is an excellent idea to have an extra backup?





New Features in 21w43a

- When you upgrade a planet, the difference between the old world generation and new world generation has been adjusted





Upgrading of old worlds

When creating close to old chunks hew terrain is adjusted to better match the existing terrain near the borders. In older chunks, if there's Bedrock at y=0, the below column will be filled with deepslate- Worlds upgraded in this snapshot will always contain this deepslate, so when you plan to add caves under height 0 later, make sure to keep backups before upgrading





Changes in 21w43a

Priority Updates has been renamed Chunk Builder. The less frequent changes in aquifer water levels result in more areas with the same level of water. This means slightly fewer underground waterfalls and slightly easier boat travel in the underground - Lava aquifers are less frequent - Restricted Big Dripleaf placement to Clay, Grass, Dirt, Farmland, Moss, Rooted Dirt, Podzol and Mycelium





Technical changes in 21w43a

To improve save times to speed up save times, certain internal aspects of fluid ticking and block have been modified. Although it's expected to be exactly as it was, it might be a good time to test your redstone devices (on a copy of a world or with backup, of course) - The Chunk format has been updated

MC-131930 - Deep warm sea generates without sea pickles and coral MC-156616 - Badlands layers not generating properly MC-217379 - Pufferfish don't reproduce in warm oceans. MC-236624 Deep Warm Oceans do not count towards the "Adventuring Time" advancement MC-236970 - Badlands strata is covered with orange terracotta at Y=160 and above MC-238073. LIBERTY Decorators are not dependent on world seed MC-238939 . Stone can be generated in the Nether MC-29397 Lava pockets are formed in icebergs
