Here's how your Minecraft game might look if you use Sonic Ether’s ray tracing shading shader

Are you looking for the Minecraft shader that ray tracing? Real-time lighting effects are a major feature in high-fidelity games such as Battlefield V or Metro Exodus. However, they are also available in the chunky world of Minecraft. A modder made a ray-tracing shader that can be used in the classic building game.



It's not the same as ray-tracing. STRONGCRAFT Technically it's the rendering method Sonic Ether employs in Minecraft to create real-time global illumination. Path tracing employs rays that bounce many times through a scene. However, the result is very similar to that of ray tracing: stunningly-lit and shadowed areas, even in something as simple as Minecraft.



The results are quite amazing gorgeous beams of light pass through a glass ceiling onto a shiny reflective floor. A torch emits a real warm glow in the second. It's hard to believe that you're looking at Minecraft. Here are a few things you can expect from Sonic Ether's shader, including how to get Minecraft Ray Tracing through this impressive pack, as well as what we know about the version that doesn't require an RTX graphic card.





Minecraft ray tracing

Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders Renewed can be downloaded to make ray-tracing work in Minecraft. The shader is currently running version 1.0.1 and was last updated in February 2020. Here's the full description: "SEUS Renewed" is an overhaul and reintroduction to the previous SEUS versions. It provides high-quality visuals with low-performance using traditional rasterization-based rendering techniques. SEUS Renewed is a beta version of SEUS. versions, but I devote the majority of my time developing SEUS PTGI.





Minecraft Ray tracing without an RTX graphics card

SEUS PTGI is a new version of SEUS that is currently in development. PTGI stands for Path Traced Global Illumination. This is a custom-built software implementation for ray tracing which does not require an RTX card. It will need an Nvidia graphics card to run, though AMD compatibility is apparently being worked on. There's no announcement of when a version of SEUS PTGI will be available in an accessible state.





Minecraft with RTX

The Windows 10 version of Minecraft now features Nvidia's RTX capabilities, but there are certain limitations. First you'll require a high-end computer equipped with an Nvidia RTX GPU , or a supported AMD GPU. Visit Nvidia's website to find out how to get access to this version of Minecraft for yourself.



When you've set up up Minecraft with RTX there are a variety of new creations that have been selected by Mojang to explore. These worlds are available on the Minecraft Marketplace, though they shouldn't cost you any additional money. Raytracing effects can be very difficult to run without an RTX 2000 series or higher card. Don't worry that you're not able to maintain a stable framerate.
