Minecraft Java Edition 1.16.2

Since the Nether Update, the Piglins were spotted sneaking into their chests and taking a look at their chests. With 1.16.2 We're introducing the Piglin Brute - an Piglin so focused on guarding the Bastion Remnants' chests that even gold won't keep them from their duties.





Features


Accessibility

To improve visual comfort, two new accessibility settings were added.



Distortion effects like nausea and the Nether portal overlay can now be eliminated at lower values. nausea is replaced by the green overlay as an alternative visualization - Field of view effects, which are shown after speed modifiers have been applied, are now reduced





Chat Delay

The Chat delay has been added to the Chat Settings screen - Pressing F3+D clears the chat messages in queue





Bastion Remnants

- Tweaked the Bastion Remnant chest loot Chests in Bastion Remnants are now more likely to be placed on the top of gilded, blackstone





Blocks

- Brewing stands can now be crafted with blackstone - Lanterns and Soul Lanterns may now be waterlogged - Crimson and warped fungus can be placed on mycelium - Chains can be placed in all orientations





Items

Tools are now separated according to the material found in the creative inventory - Totems of undying now provide the status effect of fire resistance for 40 seconds once activated.





Mobs

Endermen can't put their blocks on bedrock blocks any longer - Zoglins are now shackled to a Zombified Piglin will be riding a Strider, and holding the Warped Fungus onto a Stick - Removed Herobrine





Piglins

- added Piglin Bruntes! - Piglins now become angry when players open or destroy the Chest Minecart - Tweaked bartering loot





Piglin Brute

Piglin Brutes, which are more powerful versions of Piglins, live in bastions and protect treasures there - Piglin Brutes aren't cowardly or greedy like their counterparts who are cowardly. They attack on sight regardless of how they dress. Piglin Brutes wield axes and don't need armor, because they're that strong.





Block Positions for Respawn

Modified the way respawn locations are selected for beds as well as anchors for respawns. Anchors will prioritize corner directions over cardinal directions - Beds will prioritize the side of the bed the player entered from, and spaces that circle around the bed's foot all the way to the top of the bed. - Respawning players will be facing the block they respawned at - Placing players onto dangerous blocks is now avoided if it is possible.





Villagers

Villagers emit green particles when they join a village, set a home bed or acquire a job site or profession. Villagers lose their job sites when they change dimensions.





Technical

- Custom worlds now allow custom biomes. - Sign edit screen now begin with existing sign text (should not have any noticeable impact on vanilla). Small changes to the selection screens for data and selection screens for resource packs. Tags now be entered with an optional option.

Execute

Now, execute the command for dimension scaling





spawnpoint & setworldspawn

Syntax: spawnpoint [][Syntax: spawnpoint [][ Syntax : setworldspawn [] New parameters



angle - Floating point angle in degrees. It is a relative modifier that supports it.





Generation of custom-made worlds

- Custom world generation and dimension settings now use the same folder pattern in data packs as other resources (namespace//resource.json) - There is now experimental support for a worldgen folder in data packs worldgen/biome can contain biome definitions worldgen/configured_carver can contain definitions for world carver settings worldgen/configured_feature can contain definitions for feature placements worldgen/configured_structure_feature can contain definitions for structure placements worldgen/configured_surface_builder can contain definitions for surfaces worldgen/noise_settings can now contain noise configurations worldgen/processor_list can contain sets of block processors worldgen/template_pool can contain pool definitions for jigsaw structures - Custom biomes can now be used in the single biome/caves/floating islands world types (add the data pack containing the biome first) - Custom biomes can now be used in custom dimension generators





Limit on dedicated server packets

Dedicated servers can now kick clients that consistently send too many packets within a second - Controlled with the rate-limit settings of server.properties The default rate limit of 0 signifies "no limit"





Pack selection screens

When the screen is open it will update automatically when pack directory contents change - Both pack selection screens will now show the contents of pack.png as pack icon





Pack version

Version 6 of the Resource Pack has been updated





Tags


Optional entries

The entries in tags can now be marked as optional. The failure to resolve entries that are optional will not stop the whole tag from loading. Example:

Bugs

A total of more than 150 bugs were fixed in this release!





Get the Release
