Try Minecraft: Education Edition For Free

Anyone can download Minecraft: Education Edition absolutely no cost! You can try Minecraft: Education Edition for free by using the trial that is free or download the demo lesson. You'll need an account to get the trial at no cost, which is either an Office 365 Education or Microsoft 365 account. It is not necessary to have an account or login to access the demo lesson. This article explains how to make use of the demo lesson as well as the free trial.



Technical requirements



Minecraft: Education Edition is compatible with Chromebook, iPad and Mac. To ensure that Minecraft: Education Edition is compatible with your device, go through the System Requirements article.



About the trial free



The trial version for free is fully functional and comes with all the features of the paid version. The trial is compatible with Code Connection and Classroom Mode. These features are described in the Get Started with Code Connection and Get Startted with Classroom Mode articles.



The trial is limited to 25 logins for teachers with an Office 365 Education Account and 10 for all users. After that you will need to purchase a paid license required in order to continue playing. Trial logins can't be refreshed. Contact our support team right away if you have any questions. After your trial logins have been used, Minecraft: Education Edition is available to purchase.



Start the free trial



If you have an Office 365 Education account or an Microsoft 365 account, follow these steps to begin the trial trial for free.



Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you want to download from the Get Minecraft download page. The Minecraft: Education Edition version that you downloaded must be installed. Launch and sign into Minecraft Education Edition using your Office 365 Education account information (this may be your school email) or with your Microsoft 365 account information. If you...

You must have an account that is valid

You do not have an account with a valid expiration date

About the demo lessons



Demo lessons allow you to test Minecraft: Education Edition at no cost and without an account. Demo lessons are limited in their functionality. The progress and worlds cannot be saved, and it's impossible to host or join a multiplayer game. SERVER LISTS can experience a real Minecraft lesson by playing a demo lesson. There is no limit to the number of times you play every demo lesson.



Start a demo lesson



These steps will allow you to take a no-cost lesson.



Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you want to download from the Get Minecraft download page. The Minecraft: Education Edition version you downloaded should be installed. Start Minecraft: Education Edition. At the Welcome to Minecraft Education Edition screen, choose If you don't have an account, create one. To read the license agreement, choose View Terms. When you are ready to play, select Accept Terms and then Play. Select Start Lesson. You can gain access to lessons using the lock overlay after signing into the game using a licensed account or one that is suitable for trial.
