Firavun, Hz. Musa'nın teklifini kabul eder ve dosdoğru evine gider ve kendisini ayaklarından baş aşağı astırır. Sabaha kadar dua eden Firavun, Allah'a yalvararak şöyle der. "Allah'ım yarın beni Musa'nın önünde mahcup etme, bende biliyorum Allah olmadığımı, Yaradan'ın sen olduğunu biliyorum." diyerek sabaha kadar ibadet eder.
Hz. Musa ise kendinden emin olduğu için o güne özel ibadet etmez. Günlük ibadetlerini yaptıktan sonra uyur. Ve sabah olup uyandığında Firavun'la ahitleştikleri yere gelir.
Kalabalıkta toplanmıştır.
Firavun suya emreder, ey su dur der ve su durur. Tersine ak der su tersine akar.
Hz. Musa şaşkınlık içinde olup biteni izlerken, Cebrail (as) gelir ve Ey Musa kalbini dolandırma. Firavun sabaha kadar Allah'a yalvardı. Allah'ta onun duasını kabul etti. Şimdi tekrar emretse su durmaz buyurdu.
Hz. Musa, Firavuna akar suya tekrar emretmesini söyledi.
Firavun tekrar emredince su durmadı. Tersine de akmadı.
Hz. Musa suya emrederek durdurdu, tersine akıttırdı. Bunu defalarca da yaptı.
