This is something that few guys are willing accept. You have to be willing and able to work harder than everyone else if your goal is to become a better player and coach. I realize many players think they're so friggin good that they don't have to work hard. Good luck.
Also, it's important to practice position-specific drills so that you can improve your technique. You might have the winning technique, and you never know.
Can you train while not taking a protein powder? Yes, of course. But, why? I know some guys use this as a badge of being "hard core," whatever the hell that is.but, really, do you want to be that guy sitting in the gym eating chicken out of a Pyrex bowl, stinking the place out?
Recently, a coach asked me how to attack or beat a youth zone defense. It was really a generic question. The first thing I told him to do was truly identify that it was a zone defense. How do you do this?
Run a crossing route: This is when you should run a line that runs through the middle of a field. football player game Zone defense players protect areas, not players. Players will cover them with multiple players and not one player.

A zone defense, just like a zone defense of basketball, in football wants the ball to stay in front and only in certain areas. They want to force the offense into a specific spot. They will sometimes even give up yards, but try to avoid big plays.
Remember, I'm talking about youth football for young players and coaches. Flooding the zone with players is the best way to defeat the zone defense. Each zone has a gap. Find the gaps and you'll find success.
This "What-if" mentality is not good for you. First, 99.9% won't happen for anything you worry. Secondly, this kind of thinking creates more anxiety, tension, and fear. Follow the football player and get your mind focused on creating a extraordinary experience of success for yourself.
