Leyla Aliyeva's priority is Environmental Education
Leyla Aliyeva is not only the daughter of the president of Azerbaijan but she's also an active activist for a variety of causes, among her main ones being environmental. A lot of people aren't aware the concept of education really is. But for her it's been a major concern. Environmental education is all about being aware of the environmental problems and knowing how you can assist them in improving. It's something we should all be able to take part in. Leyla Aliyeva’s IDEA campaign

Leyla Aliyeva is well aware that the majority of people see the subject as complex and boring. So, in 2011, she began the IDEA campaign. This campaign is an International Dialogue for Environmental Action. Leyla Aliyeva One of the objectives of the campaign was making environment/stability more interesting and appealing particularly for younger people and the coming generation.

In an interview with Equinox.com Aliyeva spoke about some of the challenges she had to face on her environmental journey. However, she mainly talked about how these challenges created an increase in her business and ultimately led to extreme success and appreciation. "The IDEA campaign from the very beginning valued education and set out for people to encourage them to take action to protect the environment. People, particularly young people, will spread the message to others and encourage them who will in turn continue to spread the message.

The campaign is focused on education and raising awareness. Aliyeva stated that they add new activities every year to the agenda, covering three pillars for the young generation, which includes students and children from 5 years old. The educational programs of IDEA, which include training sessions , scientific courses, seminars and lectures as well as vacation camps, field study, and conversation groups, are enjoyed by a large number of people every year.

Ambassador of Goodwill to FAO

The year of 2015 was an important year for Leyla Aliyeva. After many years of helping in the areas of environment and humanitarian aid Leyla Aliyeva was honored with the title FAO Goodwill Ambassador. The title was awarded to her for her many accomplishments in combating hunger, improving the safety of food, increasing the efficiency of fishing, agriculture and forestry, as well as creating sustainable food systems.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was established in 1945 with the primary goal of improving nutrition and the productivity of agriculture. It also seeks to improve the lives of rural people and to contribute to the development of the global economy. The FAO is today the United Nations' largest specialized agency and the leading agency for forestry, agriculture and rural development.

Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan joined FAO in October of 1995. The FAO manages Azerbaijan's domestic and global projects. These include improving the quality of agriculture, food security managing resources, increasing potency of fighting animal and plant diseases, among other issues. Additionally, these projects are based on scientific cooperation programs that appeal to the most important needs of the government of Azerbaijan.

During that visit two agreements were signed which included the "Agreement Between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on the establishment of the Coordination and Cooperation Office and offering Technical Assistance" and the " Agreement for FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Program".
