If a player believes that they have a good chance of winning, they will remain in the game. These players will place bets. The betting cycle is initiated by the player to their left of the dealer. Although there are now five cards on the table for Texas Holdem, each player can only use three of those cards to make a 5-card poker hand. The small blind is the first action in poker.
