Abstract (summary) The research examines the educational advantages of video games and games-based learning. Particularly this qualitative research study investigates the effectiveness of a well-known video game known as Minecraft in a classroom setting. Three semi-structured interviews were conducted with educators who use Minecraft in class as a main, optional, or supplementary tool. Participants were asked to share their thoughts of their experiences using Minecraft. all about video games suggest that Minecraft is mobilized as an excellent tool for decentralizing instruction, encourages students' creativity, facilitates collaboration in the classroom, allows teachers to cross-curricularly teach and cross-classroom and addresses the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and students who have experienced difficulties in school and could potentially even have therapeutic values for students with learning disabilities. However the introduction of Minecraft into a classroom can prove difficult because of the initial financial investments, technological knowledge, and regulations for boards. Teachers who are interested in introducing Minecraft in their classrooms need to ensure that their students are guided and have a game-based learning environment in order to receive the full benefits of a Minecraft based classroom.
