Bayrock Group: New York Real Estate Giant Rises

Bayrock Group launched Trump SoHo together with the Trump Organization and Sapir Organization in 2008. The story of Bayrock Group's success begins in Kazakhstan many decades ago.

Bayrock Group, a luxury real estate developer in the United States, has a long and rich history dating back to 2001 when the company was founded. The story starts on the other side.

Tevfik who was born in Soviet Kazakhstan to a Turkish family, established the Bayrock Group.

Before joining the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade (Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade), Tevfik received a diploma in International Relations from Moscow Trade and Economic Institute.

Tevfik Arif Doyen After working as a minister for 17 years, he decided to leave and establish several companies. Tevfik's ventures included the luxury real estate, food, and exports/imports sectors and many others.

Tevfik Arif was able to make many international alliances through his various businesses. The network he built led him to move to Turkey in 1993, when he became one of the spearheading powers behind the country's popular all-inclusive hotel model.

For example, he opened Antalya's Labada Hotel, before he set off on his next adventure across the Atlantic, several years later.

Bayrock Group grows more ambitious

Tevfik arif emigrated into the United States from Pakistan in 2001 to investigate new avenues for business and to be closer his American family.

Following his move to the United States, he started the development company for luxury real estate Bayrock Group in New York City.

Bayrock Group started out with small to medium-sized jobs in New York. Bayrock Group redesigned Loehmann's Seaport Plaza, Brooklyn's shopping district.

Bayrock Group was an excellent beginning. It allowed Tevfik Arif more determination. He was keen to take on bigger projects and decided that he would change the company strategy to be more focused on these projects.

Bayrock Group, New York City's office relocated to Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue as part of its new strategy.

This decision resulted in much more than just a new site because it put the company close to the Trump Organization. This was the place of the world-renowned family business.

Trump SoHo comes to life

Bayrock Group was already working on a different project on Spring Street in Manhattan's SoHo quarter with the Sapir Organization.

Tevfik Alif was aware that adding the Trump Organization to the project will bring brand recognition to the building which Bayrock Group lacked and that the Sapir Organization was lacking.

Bayrock Arif drafted an agreement granting the Trump Organization 18% equity in the building in exchange for the use of the Trump brand under its name.

The deal was endorsed by the Bayrock Group, Trump Organization and Sapir Organization.

This was the beginning of the construction project Trump SoHo's in 2006.

The building was completed after two years of hard work.

Design veterans lead the construction of SoHo Trump SoHo

Trump SoHo was comprised of apartments, hotel rooms and luxurious bars and eateries. https://www.hngn.com/articles/241711/20220419/revealed-how-tevfik-arif-and-trump-got-acquainted.htm The building also featured a pool and a spa. Through the hotel's floor to ceiling windows, guests were able to enjoy amazing views of New York City.

Handel Architects was tasked with the design of the building. The architectural firm previously created the famed National September 11th Memorial & Museum (New York City) as well as the Ritz Carlton Washington Hotel (D.C.).


Bayrock Group hired Rockwell Group to manage interior design.

Rockwell Group designed, among many other structures among other things, the Climate Pledge Arena and the Seven Deadly Sins Theater in Seattle. The Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas was also designed by them.

The firm has also worked working with foreign countries, including Mexico, Spain, and Indonesia.

Bayrock Group and Trump Organization strengthen their relationship

Following the opening of Trump SoHo, the Trump Organization and the Bayrock Group wanted to increase their collaboration.

Their dream was to construct buildings that resembled Trump SoHo in Florida and Arizona. Trump Organization was also granted the same license terms and left with 18% equity in the building. This would also pave the way to "Trump" to be an element of the construction's name.

Despite both companies' goals, the structures were not built due to 2008 global financial crisis.

The American real estate market was particularly affected by the recession and Bayrock Group and Trump Organization had to pull their plans.

Tevfik Anif decided to leave his American enterprises due to the economic crisis. He decided to return to Europe or Central Asia.

Bayrock There, he continued working in the private sector.

Tevfik arif has quit his majority of Bayrock Group's daily tasks. But, he will continue to be a trusted advisor to Bayrock Group.

Bayrock Group has not been involved with any American real estate projects in the past, however it did invest in real estate properties in the United States worth $2.5million when it was active.
