Karena ramuan ini adalah tingkat pemula, Profesor Severus Snape menyuruh siswa tahun pertamanya membuat ramuan ini untuk ujian akhir mereka pada tahun 1992 .
Siswa tahun kedua mempelajari ramuan ini di tahun ajaran 2009–2010 .

Bagian 1
1. Tambahkan 2 tetes Air Sungai Lethe ke kuali Anda
2. Panaskan perlahan selama 20 detik
3. Tambahkan 2 tangkai Valerian ke kuali Anda
4. Aduk 3 kali, searah jarum jam
5. Lambaikan tongkatmu
6. Biarkan diseduh dan kembali dalam 45-60 menit.
Bagian 2
1. Tambahkan 2 takaran Bahan Standar ke dalam mortar
2. Tambahkan 4 buah mistletoe ke dalam mortar
3. Hancurkan menjadi bubuk sedang-halus menggunakan alu
4. Tambahkan 2 sejumput campuran yang dihancurkan ke kuali Anda
5. Aduk 5 kali, berlawanan arah jarum jam
6. Lambaikan tongkatmu untuk menyelesaikan ramuan.
