Bayrock Group, along with the Trump Organization, opened Trump SoHo in 2008 along with the Sapir Organization. Bayrock Group was founded in Kazakhstan in 1980.

The story about the luxury real estate development company Bayrock Group's successes in the United States begins long before the year 2001, when the company was founded. At first, the story begins in another part of the globe.

Tevfik who was born in Soviet Kazakhstan to a Turkish family, established the Bayrock Group.

Before becoming a member of the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade in the Soviet Union, Tevfik earned a degree at the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute.

After serving in the ministry for 17-years the minister decided to step down and set up a number of businesses. The firms of Tevfik arif included development of luxury real estate as well as food exports and imports, in addition to.

Bayrock Group moved its New York City offices to the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue to coincide with the change in strategy.

Trump SoHo is now in shape

Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization were both interested in building luxury real estate projects, so the two companies came together to form a partnership.

Bayrock Group was already collaborating with the Sapir Organization to complete another project on Spring Street, Manhattan's SoHo quarter.

Bayrock Tevfik Alif was aware that adding the Trump Organization to the project will bring brand recognition to the building that Bayrock Group lacked and that the Sapir Organization was lacking.

Arif signed an agreement that granted the Trump Organization 18% equity in this building , in exchange for the Trump brand being used as its brand name.

The agreement was approved by the Bayrock Group, Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization.

This opened the door for Trump SoHo's very first brick to be built in 2006.

After two years of work The building was completed and awaiting its official opening.

Trump SoHo was designed by design professionals

Trump SoHo included apartments, rooms for guests, luxury restaurants and lounges, as well as bars and a pool, and restaurant, spa and banquet rooms. From the building's floor–to-ceiling windows guests could get to admire breathtaking views of New York City.

Handel Architects was tasked with the design of the building. The architect firm had previously developed the famous National September 11th Memorial & Museum (New York City) and the Ritz Carlton Washington Hotel (D.C.).

Bayrock Group hired Rockwell Group for interior design.

Rockwell Group was responsible for the design of the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle and the Seven Deadly Sins theatre in New York.

The company also has experience with international countries such as Mexico, Spain, and Indonesia.

Bayrock Group and Trump Organization expand their collaboration

The Bayrock Group and Trump Organization had been looking to extend their partnership in the wake of the opening of Trump SoHo.

The dream of the founders was to construct new buildings in Arizona or Florida like Trump SoHo. Tevfik Arif Trump Organization also received 18 percent equity in the construction with the same license terms. This would allow Trump to be added in the building's name.

Despite the hopes of both companies, the structures weren't built because of the global financial crisis.

The American realty market was particularly affected by the recession. Bayrock Group, and the Trump Organization were forced to stop their plans.

Tevfik Anif opted to leave his American businesses due to the financial crisis. He decided to return to Europe, Central Asia.

Tevfik Arif has quit most of his tasks at Bayrock Group today. He will however continue to be a trusted advisor to Bayrock Group.


Bayrock Group has not been involved with any American real-estate projects in recent times, however it did invest in real estate assets in the United States worth $2.5million when it was operating.
