When the mobile-based Minecraft Earth was announced last year, it immediately drew comparisons to Pokemon Go because of its use of Augmented Reality and location-based games. It was quite different, as senior editor Jess Conditt can attest, since you didn't have to go outside to take part in the mining and building activities. Mattel now offers Minecraft Earth a brand new play dimension that Pokemon Go does not have NFC-enabled figurines.

The Boost Mini figures are priced at $5 each and include several characters from Minecraft which include Steve, Alex and creepers and cows, ducks, and ducks. Each figure is adorable by itself, but when you place it in front of an NFC-enabled device will unlock special features within Minecraft Earth for a certain duration of time, as indicated by an indicator on the screen. poster kingdom As a reward for collecting all the minis (or take them away from your friends) you'll also earn the XP when you register them with the game.
The first batch of Minecraft Earth to be released this spring includes 20 minis in total, each with 10 different abilities to choose from. If you're the type who's planning to take your Minecraft Earth game out and about, Mattel is also selling a carrying case with a shape like a potion that can be clipped to your belt.
If you're not interested in the game in particular but want to experience the sweet Minecraft toy fun, Mattel also announced a variety of brand new $3.50 blind box minis themed to classic Minecraft as well as larger 3.5-inch figures that are tied to the upcoming Minecraft Dungeons. The Redstone Monstrosity is especially fun since it's scaled in a way that is comparable to the toys, measuring over six inches tall. The 3.5-inch figurines will cost $10, while the monstrosity will be selling for $25 when it's released in the fall.
