Minecraft mobs are the living entities in Minecraft - a short form for mobile, these sometimes adorable, but sometimes you'll see aggressive creatures roaming the many biomes of the blocky universe. They will respond to you, other players and other mobs, no matter if they're a creeper knocking on your door or the pig in your backyard pen.

Mobs in Minecraft are vulnerable to the same environmental changes and the same physics that affect players. They are able to be killed and attacked with weapons, and after being killed drop resources and experience points, with mobs that are hostile dropping rare items on occasion.

In Creative mode, Minecraft mobs won't attack you. However, Survival and Hardcore modes permit three different types of behavior that are neutral, hostile and passive. Mobs that are useful, such as the iron golem and snow golem can be designed to aid you in fighting off hostile mobs. Mobs that trust you are not controlled however they can be interacted with. They include dolphins, ocelots, and even the adorable Minecraft Fox. Here's a list of all the mobs and monsters that can be found in the vast Minecraft landscape.

Minecraft passive mobs

The passive mobs in Minecraft will not attack you, and will run away if they are they are attacked. They are able to breed, so you'll see baby animals in the same place. Most passive mobs can easily be controlled if they're not already. Then there are the residents of Minecraft villages, such as traders and villager. Other farmyard friends can supply sources, including wool from cows or sheep's milk.

Minecraft neutral mobs

If you are at risk of being attacked, neutral mobs will attack you in Minecraft. This is helpful if you want to get drops of items or XP. Certain mobs, for example wolves are able to attack other mobs, like rabbits or sheep. Llamas are more aggressive toward wild wolves. Minecraft bees can be found in plains and forests of flowers or beehives that you can make using honeycomb and wood planks.

- Dolphin - Polar bear - Trader llama - Llama - Panda - Wolf - Bee Iron golem - Goat

Minecraft neutral monsters

Some Minecraft monsters in this category behave in a different way. For example, cave spiders and spiders can become hostile when the levels of light fall below 10.

Minecraft hostile mobs

Hostile mobs can be aggressive and dangerous in Minecraft. They attack you within a certain area, usually 16 blocks with no obstruction. However, some mobs can detect you from 100 blocks away. Mobs that fly, such as the Minecraft phantom, spawn above and try to fly down and attack you. A boss mob is a particular kind of threat that is more detectable range and has more health. Examples include the Minecraft Ender Dragon as well as the Minecraft Wither.

Our Minecraft shield guide will help you fight these nasty mobs. Once you've gathered your phantom membranes, as well as other mob ingredients, you are able to mix all kinds of potions in Minecraft. You can add more Minecraft mods to your mobs, or change their appearance with Minecraft texture packs. There's also the upcoming sniffer mob and camel mob in the Minecraft 1.20 update.
