Minecraft's silent landscaper Steve is exiting his world of blocks and entering Telltale's world of stories: Minecraft is getting a "narrative-driven" game by the team behind The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones games. Minecraft: Story Mode, like Telltale's other works, will be episodic and playable across a variety of platforms when it launches "sometime in 2015." Despite the acquisition, it seems that Microsoft's pledge to keep Minecraft multiplatform is still in place.
Telltale's describing the game as an "partnership with Mojang," and says it won't exist as an extension of Minecraft It's a standalone episode series "driven by the player's choice." Mojang and Telltale both point out that they are working with the community to develop the story. Mojang specifically states, "We're certain that we will not create an official story for Steve (the main character in Minecraft] or explain the world of Minecraft in depth."
We don't have images or videos of the game in action however we're expecting the same style, distinct to Minecraft's art style.
