He read his son's final message on the YouTube channel where the 20-something had entertained over 11 million viewers with Minecraft gameplay and wry comments. The titlewas "so long nerds."

Technoblade Technoblade, a YouTube personality that gained millions of followers with his humorous commentary on videos of him playing Minecraft was killed his father announced through a video posted on his son's YouTube account.

Technoblade's YouTube channel uploaded the video "so long geeks" on Thursday. The video was seen more than 26 million times as of Friday afternoon. The video is different from the channel's typical style, which features colorful bricks that are pixelated. Instead, Technoblade's dad is shown in a chair , accompanied by a small white dog and an unassuming white background.

His father, who does not identify himself, reads an email from his son that begins: "Hello everyone. Technoblade is here. If you're watching this, I am dead."

The message then goes on to reveal Technoblade's first name, Alex. He didn’t use it on the internet. The video also features a handful of pictures of Alex with his family and friends. He rarely showed himself in YouTube videos and preferred to display himself in a crowned sword-wielding porcine.

Alex's letter says that "If I had another hundred years in my life, I think I'd pick Technoblade every time." "Those were the most joyful years of my life."

His father, who is emotional throughout the video says the two of them talked for months about whether or not to create an end-of-the-line video. Instead, Alex decided to write the letter and died around eight hours after having completed the letter, according to his father.

"I don't think he's did everything he wanted to say, but I believe he was able to get the most important points," he says.

The video ends with a declaration written by Alex's mother (who isn't identified) wrote. She wrote that Alex was averse to fame and was self-deprecating as his channel grew in popularity.

"From Technoblade's very first days on the internet, he was always strategizing ways to delight and reward his followers by giving away prizes online as well as encouraging good sportsmanship, and, perhaps most importantly sharing his Minecraft adventures for entertainment and laughs," she wrote.

Alex's family couldn't be reached on Friday. Hypixel Gaming, a gaming firm, said that Alex's family had requested no information be provided to them. Don Pireso, the company administrator, wrote in a direct tweet "The video they posted contains all the information they're comfortable sharing at present."

Alex posted his August video on his YouTube channel, where he first acknowledged his diagnosis of cancer. Like other videos, the video showed the game while the actor spoke out of camera. He kept his self-deprecating , humorous style, refusing any attempt to be serious. He also admitted his age at the time, 22.

He described how his first round of chemotherapy made exhausted that he couldn't even sit up for an appointment online with an oncologist. He then joked "Sitting in the chair do I look like Superman?"

He claimed he was diagnosed after he experienced severe pain in his arm. He initially dismissed it as a repetitive strain injury due to playing video games, but even after a few days of rest, he said his shoulder "was swelling like crazy."

He also urged people to get the vaccine Covid-19. He said that his treatment for cancer had weakened his immune system, which made him more prone to serious illnesses caused by the coronavirus.

He said, "I'm going ahead and be a voice for all cancer patients when i declare it incredibly annoying when hospitals are overwhelmed by patients who are dying from preventable diseases." "I'm just saying, we're entitled to those hospital beds."

On social media, Technoblade's acquaintances and followers were awestruck by his humor and for being a role model to Minecraft players.

Minecraft is different from other games because its creator, Microsoft does not have control over the servers where players can connect online. Instead, players can build their own servers or join one that was created by another person, creating an expansive universe of worlds within the Minecraft universe.

Hypixel who manages a network of Minecraft servers, said it created a digital book in which users could write messages and the book would be printed and distributed to Technoblade's loved ones. The tribute featured a photo of Technoblade's pig character as an artifact. "In many ways, the success of many of us is dependent on Technoblade's success. Technoblade," the company stated.
