Alcoholics Anonymous - Twelve Steps - What Does Step Three Mean?
First of what alcoholics anonymous is , determine the extent of your problem. You can figure this out by doing some careful experiments. Understand that you have to take this exercise seriously or it will not reveal anything meaningful to you.

The first question to ask yourself is this: "Can I stop drinking on my own?" Most people get tripped up with this if they are an alcoholic because they argue that they do not want to stop, and that if they really did want to stop, that of course they really could. This is denial.

Total abstinence - The only way forwards with regards to Alcohol as far as alcoholics anonymous is concerned is no Alcohol at all. You should ideally not drink prior to going to a meeting, or if you have had something to drink then go to a meeting but do not say anything in the meeting as this can be frowned upon.

If you think you have a drinking problem then you should ask for help. That is not easy for most people to do but that is what will move you towards a solution the quickest. If you think about it, any alcoholic needs to ask for help because obviously they cannot solve their drinking problem by themselves. If they could then they would not have a drinking problem at all. But the mere existence of the problem is proof that they need to ask for guidance in how to solve it.

Four local boys were driving home from a graduation party two years ago. Every one of them was completely sober. All too often this is the bigger problem with teen drinking. They start at a young age and it is amazing at just how easily they can gain access to it. The frustration sets in on how to deal with it.

Outside London and the UK the drinks are not usually served in such large quantities either. Nowhere else have I seen wine coolers and vodka spritzers served in pitchers. This is another way in which it is easy to lose count of how much you are drinking.
