Chris Oyakhilome Biography: The Man, The Mentor, The Teacher and The Philanthropist

Pastor, faith healer, author, and television host, Chris Oyakhilome is known to his followers as Pastor Chris, is the founder and president of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, based in Lagos, Nigeria. He has impressed millions of people worldwide with his unique telling of God's Word.

Chris: The Pastor Chris: The Man
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, born on December 7 th, 1963 in Edo State, Nigeria, was raised in a family of faith, surrounded by his loving and dedicated parents. He is the eldest child of Elder T.E Oyakhilome and Angelina Oyakhilome. She was a pioneer of the Assemblies Of God Church in Benin City and a matriarch of Oyakhilome families. She passed on her divine grace to her son at an early age.

The whole family is actively involved with the LoveWorld ministry. The Reverend brother of Ken (the revered pastor of Christ Embassy Houston, Texas Church) and a member of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council are his two sisters. KattyWorghiren, the director of LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry is the home of several international best-selling gospel artists.


Pastor Chris has two children: Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome studied in Edo College. He then was awarded a scholarship to study architecture in Bendel State University. He is also the recipient of an honorary doctorate from Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was the location where he felt God calling him to be an ordained minister to the Lord.

Chris: Pastor Chris: A Mentor
While still in university, the Man of God established what would eventually become the largest church worldwide. It began with the formation of a small prayer group called 'Youth for Christ'. The group would later become the foundation of LoveWorld Incorporated and Christ Embassy, and eventually millions of followers around the world.

Christ Embassy has a strong presence throughout Pastor Chris's homeland of Nigeria. The church has two Healing Schools located in South Africa. These schools are where Pastor Chris holds seasonally sessions that enable miracles to happen.

Music and Gospel Music are also an essential part of worship. Pastor Chris supports Christ Embassy Churches and Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry trained choirs. Many of these singers become accomplished solo artists thanks to the guidance of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome's inspiration and guidance.

The Future African Leaders Foundation, (FALF), is an organization that strives to continue the work of Pastor Chris. It is aimed at identifying and developing young, gifted leaders and preparing them for an exciting future by acknowledging and assisting them in their amazing achievements. Pastor Chris invests in today's youth so that they will be the leaders of tomorrow.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is the organizer of international gatherings and events which bring together thousands hundreds of Christians from across the globe. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is considered to be one of the most popular and well-known pastors in Nigeria and around the world. His teachings will continue invigorate and inspire people for many years to come.

Pastor Chris is also a skilled writer and author. He has written hundreds and thousands of devotionals. The most well-known of his publications is Rhapsody of Realities. It's a daily devotional for prayers that gives his inspirational insights into the mighty Word of God. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome is a passionate philanthropist and founded the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation international (COFI) that is a non profit, not-for-profit organization with the mission of helping the most vulnerable individuals as well as communities within the most deprived countries and regions around the world.

Alongside preaching the Gospel, the Man of God also established NGOs with the aim of offering vital aid and hope to the needy, poor or uninformed. Five partners make up COFI and are working to improve the living conditions in the most deprived areas.

COFI's umbrella includes the InnerCity Mission ICM (ICM), the Volunteer Medical Corps VMC (VMC), Trauma Care International Foundation /TCIF, Future Africa Leaders Foundation and the Bible For All Mission. Each of these organizations strives to enhance the health, life and well-being of those most in need.

The charity also provides food for children in need. Pastor Chris believes in building strong communities by promoting good governance and accountable leadership. In accordance with The Sustainable Development Goals, Pastor Chris is also an advocate for sustainable development within Africa and other fragile parts of Africa through COFI. It is easy for us to see the ways in which Pastor Chris has reached out to so many people in his capacity as an ambassador of Christ.
