NPO Experts Meet in Vienna to Discuss Implementation of Recommendation 8
In January 2018, a group of NPO Experts met in Vienna to review progress in their countries and discuss new challenges. The meeting was organised by ECNL, ICNL and HSC and involved representatives from 29 countries. In addition to sharing progress, the experts also engaged in consultations with the FATF Secretariat and select government representatives on the implementation of Recommendation 8.

HMA

The acquisition of NPO Solutions by HMA is a significant move for the NPO industry. The firm now has four offices in California, with one in Los Angeles. HMA was founded in 1985 and focuses on publicly funded healthcare and human services. Clients include government agencies, health systems, nonprofit organizations, and community groups. The firm is comprised of over 200 multidisciplinary consultants with expertise in public health and human services. Its California offices have been a part of HMA's growth for over a decade.

The two molecules are related in structure, with the former containing a metal ion and the latter a polymer with a metal chelating Cys residue. The resulting complex is a 2:1 stoichiometry. However, the second AVR-PikD does not interact with another HMA monomer because of a steric restriction. The two monomers could potentially form an a2ss2-complex, which is what is known as a heterotetramer.

Health Management Associates (HMA), a consulting firm in the healthcare sector, recently acquired NPO Solutions, a Los Angeles-based management consulting firm focused on nonprofits and the social sector. Founded in 1985, HMA specializes in public health and healthcare program issues.
