Systems are altering, markets are shifting, and except we empower others to be problem-solvers and changemakers, the world will pass them by. How can we inspire folks to look past the issues, to determine solutions and construct teams to deal with them? The next changemaker framework is the best software we have to unleash the power of each generation and result in constructive change in the world. Empathy is the muse of changemaking. It is the flexibility for someone to step outside of their very own understanding and be transformed by the experiences and perspectives of others. Empathy is a dedication to fostering change by love and respect, and carrying a genuine curiosity for the way we are able to serve and celebrate others. Empathy is not found by assuming we perceive the problem, however slightly, by recognizing that we don’t, and by having a dedication to learning. Empathy is a cognitive and emotional ability: It needs to be discovered, developed and strengthened. By exercising empathy, we show that we care. We care for the senior graduates who have lost months of potential recollections and their traditional graduation experience. We care for the scholars with no access to expertise, and the senior athletes who've lost their season.


We care for the retiring teachers who never imagined their journey would end in quarantine, far from their pricey college students. We perceive and care for all of them. As the proverb goes: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you wish to go far, go together.” Teamwork is the collaboration of changemakers. We're not meant to take on these challenges alone, however in neighborhood. We lean on each other, and we grow collectively.
