James Whitfield Thomson

James Whitfield Thomson is an American author of fiction. A native of Pittsburgh, he attended Harvard College on a scholarship. After earning a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, Thomson served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He has since written numerous short stories and novels, and was recently honored with a Massachusetts Council on the Arts grant. His first novel, Agni, is the product of this rich experience.

His debut novel

At 68 years old, James Whitfield Thomson has published his debut novel. The story follows a couple named Lucy and Matt, who met 17 years ago while living in Pittsburgh. When Lucy meets Matt again, she reveals that her husband has vanished with their children. While they aren't particularly likable characters, Thomson manages to make them feel very real. Lies You Wanted to Hear is a fascinating debut novel about human nature, and I highly recommend it.

Lies You Wanted to Hear is a compelling debut novel that combines the intricate relationships of Wally Lamb and the debilitating suspense of Gillian Flynn. The story is gripping, with characters whose decisions and choices have devastating consequences, and the plot is compelling from beginning to end. Lies You Wanted to Hear is a debut novel that will captivate readers for a long time.

His children

A former sales executive and U.S. Navy navigator, James Whitfield Thomson grew up on the North Side of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He attended Harvard College on a full scholarship and earned his Ph.D. in American studies from the University of Pennsylvania. After completing his Ph.D., Thomson joined a start-up venture as a salesman.
