James Whitfield Thomson
James Whitfield Thomson was one of the original members of Andre Dubus' writers' workshop. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, he went on to study at Harvard College on a scholarship and earned a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Navy and was a navigator in Vietnam. His novels include Agni and The Ledge. He has received a grant from the Massachusetts Council on the Arts for his work.
