1. Arithmancy adalah salah satu pelajaran yang dipelajari melalu ramalan yang diselesaikan menggunakan beberapa rumus angka, atau lebih singkatnya Ramalan yang dipelajari dengan angka dan kata - kata.
2. Cornellius Agrippa adalah orang yang menerapkan konsep bahwa setiap huruf alfabet dapat dihubungkan dengan nomor yang sesuai. Salah satu karyanya adalah Tabel Agrippa yang biasa dipakai dalam Arithmancy.
3. Arithmancy dipelajari dengan beberapa rumus yang berbeda setiap jenisnya. Jenis arithmancy / ramalan menggunakan angka pun bermacam macam. Contohnya Ramalan Angka Pribadi Tahunan, Bulanan dan Harian. Meskipun terlihat sama, tetapi arti dan penghitungannya berbeda.
4. Arithmancy awalnya berasal dari bahasa Yunani yang artinya Berhitung. Ilmu ini sudah digunakan sejak dahulu. Para penyihir Eropa,Inggris,Perancis dan Amerika biasa menggunakannya dalam ilmu hitung pertongkat sihiran.Penyihir menamai ilmu ini “de neuf” yang artinya hitung. Sampai orang-orang menyebut bahwa de neuf berkaitan erat dengan ilmu pertongkat sihiran.
