I enjoy listening to music from other culture when I'm bored. It makes you feel better.

It's true. It's real. Some of it makes it amusing, while some of it is a brutal truth.. Russian. I was born there and lived there until I became a legal. Since then I have been living in the USA. Thus, I'm fluent in several languages and have also learned a few more. Sometimes, I am laughing like a baby watching videos of languages. The music is nearly irrelevant to me because I'm focusing on the words and the emotions. French, Turkish Rap and Hip Hop are especially funny to me. Russian recitatives. Spanish hard rock. Chinese heavy metal. While some of these may not sound real however, all countries undergo similar steps to develop. Similar genres of music flow across many countries. This is the sort of thing I enjoy to observe.

Sometimes I make an album of songs for road trips. Since I don't have Internet access during long Arctic cruises and am unable to save MP3s from my favorite YouTube videos I like online mp3 converter apps. These tools and apps typically include lists of the most popular videos. The majority of them have an music section. It's always fun to see what songs are popular and what they are. Even though generally, it's not the same songs, there are instances when famous artists, like BTS or Selena Gomez appear on all the most watched videos in the world in all or a few countries. It is usually a sign that a new single has been released. It's fascinating to see the progress of these tunes from one country to another, and also how they reach millions of people across the world. The majority of these songs I don't listen to as I'm more interested in the local folklore, the music that you cannot hear on the radio in the USA. Russian music feels slighly forced to me. I don;t know, maybe it's because the majority of my life I've now spent in USA however, Russian music always seems strange to me.. I don’t know. Sometimes it's just a bit superficial.

Otherwise I still enjoy the variety of music that comes from many countries. This is why I suggest that you do it too. It's refreshing and sometimes funny.
