Online video storage is unreliable. Websites can shut down or go out of business. Here's how to backup your social videos onto your personal computer.

My personal story is not the most exciting one... I was born, went on to college and then worked, fought and, finally, made it online. However, it also has several traumatic moments when I thought everything was lost for ever. One of those instances was the time my personal computer at work went silent. But after a bit of tinkering, getting new desktops and moving the hard drive from the old into the new one, I was able to restore the entire work stored on that drive. It took 3 days of sweating, figuratively crying... I've learned one thing. To automatically or manually backup my entire day's work with Dropbox and my personal FTP servers to ensure that nothing can ever be lost.

It's certainly not the best solution. The more data you store on the internet, the more is required to keep it all online. It's quite simple and secure. It's possible to download it anywhere the internet is available. What about those times where internet access isn't available? I like to have my laptop near by for those moments. It is my last option to protect against losing data. There are two drives on it, one for each HDD. This lets them copy each other and also ensures that one copy remains in the event of failure. yt3mp3 I only copy stuff there, usually, and seldom do I make my laptop work, this way I am hoping 2 drives won't go out in the same day..

My other great day of sorrow came few years ago. I am careful not to lose work. As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, I now have multiple copies of it and can access it anywhere the internet is accessible. It was Periscope. I was using it quite a bit in the past. Even during the summer 2020 riots, I did a few live streaming streams. Periscope TV closed suddenly and all the videos will vanish in a matter of weeks. What should you do? I need to download the entire video to be able to store them offline on my laptop. These videos are dear to my heart. They were the last time I spent with my best friend in Covid.

It's a site I regularly frequent. It lets me download videos for Youtube, Instagram, and Facebook - the other sites which host the majority of live streaming. I am into politics and underground movements, which is why I record a lot of live events, then save them for the future, publish some on my YouTube channel, and each time live ends, I save it up into my laptop. This is the way I work. Additionally, it lets me cross-post videos across different platforms. https://snatch.media/download-ytmp4/ I can not only post YouTube videos on Facebook, but also upload the video to Facebook and let it become an original video in its own right. It's amazing how many live feeds I've made over the last eight years. I now have 3TB. Periscope Lives aren't going out of fashion.. It's helped me greatly.

It's a breeze. The video I want to save on Periscope or Youtube is open. I copy the URL by using the share button. Then, I go to the video downloader website and copy the URL. I can then download the video onto my computer or onto my desktop. I can save it on my computer to use on other platforms. It is also possible to send it to friends. Periscope might not be available on all sites. This site is able to manage the m3u8 file other websites download on behalf of you. I go to the site for downloading videos and copy my video's URL wherever they would like it. Then, I press the on the big button. The video isn't downloaded to my computer, it's online and can be played online as the player loads tiny fragments in a sequence.

Windows copy is a method to merge these fragments into one single file. It happens because of the format of video used to create the video fragments, Mpeg TS aka transport stream. The stream contains all the information needed to decode each fragment. They are independent of one another, allowing every newcomer to stream seamlessly. It helps save browser data as well. Instead of downloading a file lasting 1 hour it downloads 360 x 10 second files. If you watch only for 25 seconds, your player downloads only 3-4 pieces. The current 25-second stretch includes 3-4 fragments. It reduces the amount of download required for viewing the stream in 25 seconds.
