The hotels of today aren't just static hotels. In order to stay current with contemporary fashions Hotels are constantly getting upgraded and transformed. Social distance protocols, as used in the US hotel industry, have been altered in order to account for the possibility that certain customers could self-transmit themselves from one person to the next in a non-contact manner with the person who has contracted the disease. When it comes to bed and breakfasts which means that any person who has contact with any of the people suffering from the disease could develop. As a result, the majority of bed-and-breakfast hosts have adopted the "one one man, one machine" rule. This rule, which may seem odd at first is designed to ensure that only one person can touch the bathrooms and beds. This also helps to limit the spread of illness within guests.

Like I mentioned earlier, the development of physical isolation also resulted in some hotels shutting off their night-time services. Simultaneously, travel restrictions began to be put into place, restricting most luxury hotels in the US to only two nights of leave per week. While this seems like something that would be a significant change, in reality, the result is quite minor. The luxury hotels generally generate greater revenue per available room as do budget and mid-range motels. Therefore, they are already experiencing a reduction in revenue per room when as compared to other hotels with similar features.

The travel restrictions will have less impact on luxury hotel occupancy rates. While some of the guests who are unable to travel because of these restrictions may be able to cancel their stay, the majority won't. In addition, since hotels offer higher rates over other kinds of accommodations and thus, any loss of clients due to these restrictions will be minimally impacting revenue. Most high-end hotels will experience very little or no change in their rates of rooms with these changes.


Certain luxury hotels across the US include the Hampton station and Smithton Hotel, have been infected by the recent swine-flu outbreaks in Australia. Both hotels remain functional and in their normal levels, however guests have to go there each fortnight during the peak season of flu to receive special instructions on the washing of hands and other sanitizing procedures.
