إن المهارات الأساسية في لعبة كرة السلة هي بمثابة العمود الفقري للعبة . وإتقإن المهارات الأساسية شرط أساسي للنجاح في اللعبة وللفوز في المباراة . وأي لعبة تعتمد في تدريباتها على ثلاث أركإن هامة هي الإعداد البدني والذهني وخطط اللعب . -3

-4 وهناك قواعد أساسيّة لكرة السّلّة، لا بدّ من معرفتها والاطّلاع عليها، ومن هذه القواعد: أنّها تتكوّن مباراة كرة السّلّة من شوطين، يتكوّن كلّ شوط من فترتين، وكلّ فترة من عشر دقائق، وفريقين يتألّفان من اثنَيْ عشرَ لاعبًا حدًّا أقصى، خمسة لاعبين منهم حدًّا أقصى لكلّ فريق في الملعب، والهدف من اللّعبة وضع الكرة في سلّة الفريق المنافس، والفريق الذي يحصل على أكبر عدد من النّقاط في نهاية اللّعبة يكون هو الفائز.
