Psychological Reasons For Gambling
Gambling is regarded as the second-oldest profession known to man. Apart from the primitive instincts that drove the apes throughout in their evolution routine, an instinctive need to risk their lives and come as a leader among their folks was the one quality that curtailed the herd psyche and resulted in Homo sapiens the front runners in the fight for survival. This attraction to the unknown and events that had an outcome beyond our control established the foundations of religion, science and mythology as well as the knowledge that would become the hallmark of our species. After all , weren't Adam and Eve betting on fate and order of Lord in taking the bite of the forbidden fruit? Behold! It's amazing how their gamble was rewarded...

The attraction towards the game of chance is thus something that is deeply embedded in our psyche. It can be attributed to our ancestors in the past who were always fighting for their survival. These odds were the key to their survival, and that of their race. Today, we are in the 21st century. Today's gambling industry is multi-billion-dollar. It thrives on the enthusiasm and obsession of modern-day gamblers who are constantly "nearly" hitting the jackpot. What drives a shrewd businessman or executive with a fancy degree; a testimony to the rationality and intelligence that has guided them through all areas of their lives? spend their hard-earned money in a single night at a shady casino is an interesting research project that sheds some light on the motives and motivations of a mind that always lives at the edge.

The first step is to be aware that there are many gamblers who do not fit the stereotypes that other people have about them. Here we are referring to both stereotypes that lie at the opposite ends of the spectrum. One stereotype is that of a sophisticated, elegant, and feminine man who knows all about wine, and has three tricks on his sleeve. most played games is bolstered by the James Bond-like characters who makes gambling attractive and glamorous. The other side is the ugly cousin of this handsome-devil. He's a social rot who is hungry and addicted to drugs, as well as taking, fighting in the name of gambling. He is now a threat to his family as well as society due to his becoming dependent on it. Thankfully our real life gambler lies between the range.

The gambling community is divided into three main categories, each with its distinct motivations and motives. These are:

1) Casual Gamblers, also known as low risk gambling:

This is a group of people who view betting for what it is, a pastime. These are the people who will play a card game on special occasions, bet on horse races in the context of a social occasion and bet with their cousins who are also enthralled by the outcome of Euro Cup. They see gambling as one of the skills they have to demonstrate they belong in the world. Because their social circle requires that they do this, or because they gain pleasure from it, they engage in gambling. But laptop is that they always gamble with the extra money they've got and know when it is time to decide when it is time to wake up and get to live a normal life.

2) Habitual Gamblers or Problem Gamblers:

This category consists of those for whom gambling has graduated from being a pastime to a serious business. For them it has become a habit that can not be easily gotten rid of because they gamble for the sake of gambling. The reason that habitual gamblers are considered to be problem gamblers is since gambling as a habit per se is certainly a problem for any individual unless he is on a constant winning streak.

3) The pathological Gamblers:

This class is likely to include the individuals who fit into the second stigma. The term "pathological" is used in psychological usage as a compulsion marked by the capacity to resist overwhelming and unreasonable desires. Gamblers who suffer from pathological addictions are insanity-driven and drawn to gambling but are unable to discern when it's the right time to end their gambling. Gambling is their main motive, just as an addict. Many of them also have other behavior problems that impact their lives - which is known as co-morbidity. People falling in this category need strong help to drive them out of this pit.

This was the classification of gamblers and their motives for what they are. Let's now try to discover how people move through these phases. What is the primary reason that a person gets involved into the world of gambling? Our ancestors understood that taking risks was a massive risk they couldn't afford to take. Considering from where we stand today, going into deep forests in darkness with nothing but stone tools to track an animal was a risky gamble that most people would not take in the present. For them, it was a way of life. So slowly but surely this ability to take risks is a part of everyone. A novice gambler may not fully comprehend the risks and benefits of gambling, but it is common sense to continue. It's hard to avoid the lure of a glamorous career. These games are often constructed in such a manner that the player believes his skill is improving and that he's getting closer to winning. This, if not checked will eventually turn into something of a routine and then eventually becomes an addiction. In essence, gambling is about two universal emotions : the desire to be a millionaire without actually having to work for it and the difficulty of letting go of that dream no matter the stakes.
