The Russian Revolution impacted politics and economics because the revolution led to the abdication of the Czar Nicholas II and his family, and also led to change in Russia's style of economy by Lenin and the Bolsheviks' belief in socialism. According to the Edpuzzle, "In February, and especially March, of 1917, [Russians] are able to force the czar to abdicate." This shows that the revolutionary ideas of Russians, especially those that were suspicious of the czar, were so strong they were able to force him off of his throne. The people no longer believed or trusted him and his family, so they revolted and removed him from power. The Russian Revolution also majorly impacted economics because after Vladimir Lenin took power, he instilled more socialist ideas into Russia's economy. The Edpuzzle states, "...the Soviets and the Bolsheviks: they are strongly, strongly socialist. They are followers of Marx. They imagine an ideal state that has very limited private property rights..." This quote shows that Lenin's socialist Ideals would have likely leeched into his style of rule and impacted Russia's economy. Russia's entire economic system would change because of Lenin's new power, which people generally didn't approve of due to being used to Russia's previous system. In conclusion, the Russian Revolution impacted economics due to Lenin's change in Russia's economic system, and it impacted politics as a result of the abdication of Czar Nicholas II and his relations.
