The Sacred Heart Church in New York
The Sacred Heart Church in Canton, Ohio, was built between 1864 and 1867. The exterior is of red brick temple style with a tetrastyle roof. The church has been used as a Roman Catholic parish for almost 100 years. Its new main altar will be used for Christmas mass on December 25. Inside, visitors can find the tomb of Philip d'Aubigny, who was a royal councilor and knight to King Henry III of England. He is also a signer of the Magna Carta.

The Sacred Heart Church is located on Shakespeare Avenue in the Bronx. It was designed by architect Elliott Lynch, who was responsible for several other parish schools and Catholic churches. The church is attached to a school of the same name. In 1875, the Y.M.C.A. purchased a plot near the Bowery for a new building. It was connected to a commercial building on Mott Street. On August 26, 1910, a New York City newspaper announced a Big Development for Fire Island.

The Sacred Heart Church is one of the oldest churches in the United States. Its original site was the site of the St. Augustine parish. It was closed to allow the construction of the new church. In 1875, Father Mullen secured a hall on Lind Avenue, where the first Mass was celebrated. On July 2, 1875, he purchased a wooden frame chapel from the parish of St. Rose of Lima on Lower Manhattan. The wooden chapel was dismantled and moved in sections to the High Bridge.

In 1876, the parish of the Sacred Heart Church was organized. The area it serves was previously part of the St. Augustine's parish. The new church was designed by architect Elliott Lynch, who had already designed several other parish schools and Catholic churches. In 1908, the school opened and Father Mullen began plans to build a new church. In the same year, he purchased a wooden frame chapel from St. Rose of Lima in Lower Manhattan. This chapel was brought from Lower Manhattan to the High Bridge.

The parish of the Sacred Heart Church was organized in June 1875. It was originally a part of St. Augustine's parish. Its first Mass was held in the hall. Later, Father Mullen purchased a chapel from St. Rose of Lima in Lower Manhattan. It was disassembled and transported in sections to the High Bridge. Once finished, the chapel was consecrated in July 1875. There was a second mass in the parish building on June 19, 1875.

The church was first occupied by the Rev. Father Mullen on June 20, 1875. The hall was used for Masses in the parish. On the following day, the priest held the first monthly Mass in the new church. On April 14, 1912, the parish hired the first resident priest of the Sacred Heart Parish, Rev. Eustace Faucher. The rector of the Sacred-Heart Parish, who had recently arrived, celebrated the church's services.

In June 1875, the Sacred Heart church was formed to serve the territory that had previously been part of St. Augustine's parish. Father Mullen secured a hall at 165th Street and Lind Avenue for the parish. On June 20, he held the first Mass in the hall. On the following day, he purchased a wooden frame chapel from St. Rose of Lima in Lower Manhattan. The structure was moved to High Bridge to serve the parish.

In June 1875, the parish of the Sacred Heart was organized. It served the territory of St. Augustine. The first Mass was held in the hall on June 20, and the church was officially founded in the same year. The Sacred Heal merged with another parish in the same neighborhood, St. Francis of Assisi was dissolved. During the four-week Advent period, the new church is also the site of a funeral.

In June 1875, the Sacred Heart parish was organized and established on the territory that had previously been the St. Augustine parish. The Sacred Healers were Catholics and they had a common faith. Their ancestors were Irish and they had a lot of Irish Catholics. But the church was not a good fit for them. Their pastors were very different, and the congregation was not happy to be in the same parish as them.
