If you have taken down a few pots without showdowns recently, some opponents will spite-call you. They'll get angry and call because they are sick and tired of you c-betting. If you don't have a piece of the board and suspect you're up against a spite-caller, don't make the c-bet.

Be decisive in your betting. No one likes to wait as you hesitate with your bet. Betting quickly also gives your opponents less time to read your habits.

A continuation bet is a bet you place on the flop after making a raise before the flop. It doesn't have to be a bet with a real hand. It's just any bet you make after a preflop raise. The term has a connotation that associates it with bluffing because most hands with which you raise miss the flop completely. In other words, most continuation bets are bluffs.

Sometimes using bluffs can be a boost to your poker betting strategy for Texas Hold'Em. It is important to remember that bluffs will work best when they are unexpected, if you bluff too often no one will fall for your tricks. On the flip side, if you never use bluffs and bet on a good hand, other players are more likely to pick up on the hand and fold rather than bet against you.
