Revealed - How Trump and Tevfik Amir Got Together

Tevfik Aif's Bayrock Group grew quickly from working on small projects, and then working with major players such as the Trump Organization.

The name Tevfik Arif is usually associated with the luxury real-estate development company Bayrock Group. In Europe and Asia Arif is famous as a serial entrepreneur who operates in many sectors.

Bayrock Group was founded by him in 2001 , when the time came for him to move to the United States.

As a youngster, Tevfik Arif became interested in economics and business - topics that would later continue to interest him throughout his entire life.

He was a teenager who was driven by his interests and was enrolled at the Moscow Trade and Economics Institute to pursue a degree as an international Relations specialist.

After graduating, he was recruited as a consultant for the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade.

Tevfik was proud to do the job, since it was regarded as a highly important job by the Soviet young people.

In the 17 years in government service, he was promoted numerous times, and eventually became the Director-in-Chief of the Ministry of Commerce and Trade's Hotel Management Department.

In the early 1990s, new business opportunities were created in Kazakhstan, as the Soviet Union collapsed.

It was made independent by Kazakhstan and the private sector became more available to Kazakhstanis.

Tevfik Aif goes to America with bigger dreams
Tevfik Arif was among the younger Kazakhstanis who had a go in the unknown world of private business.

He quit his government position and established several businesses that specialize in luxury development, food imports and Exports, as well as other areas.

Tevfik's numerous business ventures in different sectors gave him an extensive network national and international partners.

International associates inspired him to pursue new avenues in the world. In 1993, he emigrated to Turkey in which he was one of the first to be behind the all-inclusive hotel concept.

He also opened the Labada Hotel, Antalya in Turkey. It is still in operation to this day.

Through the years, Tevfik Alif entered the European market before making the move to USA in 2001.

The Kazakhstani businessman relocating to New York City so he could be closer to his American family.

At the same time, he could look into American business ventures. Bayrock Group, a luxury real estate development company was established. They began to handle smalland medium-sized homes.

The firm was, for instance, charged with the reconstruction of the Loehmann's Seaport Plaza shopping center in the Sheepshead Bay neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.

Tevfik Arif had bigger dreams after many success-filled projects.

He wanted to invest in bigger projects, and to help implement the new plan Bayrock Group's headquarters were moved to the Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue.

Tevfik Arif was lucky enough to be on one of the most well-known avenues in the world.

One of them was associated with the Trump Organization, also located in Trump Tower.

How Bayrock Group leveraged the Trump Organization
Bayrock Group was in the SoHo area of New York City at the time, and was working with Sapir Organization.

Bayrock Group is still relatively new to the American real estate market, however the Trump Organization was.

The company, which was run by the former American president Donald Trump, was a well-known brand, and Tevfik Arif eyed big potential in the sector.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock To add brand recognition and prestige to the project in SoHo The Bayrock Group founder suggested adding the Trump Organization to the plan.


Tevfik Arki presented a plan which would grant Trump Organization 18 percent ownership in the building in exchange for the Trump logo to be used as the building's name.

The agreement that launched Trump SoHo was signed by all three parties.

In the year 2006, Spring Street was the site for the first brick. Two years later, the building's 46 stories were opened to the public.

With Trump SoHo the three firms set out to achieve the highest level of perfection. The building is equipped with floor-to-ceiling windows that allow residents to see the New York City skyline at any angle.

Bayrock Trump SoHo consisted of apartments with rooms for hotel guests, an open-air restaurant, pool, bar and spa facilities along with event and banquet halls.

Handel Architects designed the structure of the building, and Rockwell Group handled the interior design of Trump SoHo.

Both firms have extensive portfolios, which include projects with international recognition.

Handel Architects has, for instance created the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington D.C. and the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in New York City.

Recently, clients include the W Hotel Nashville, Freehold Bar Miami as well as the Kimpton Hotel Shinjuku in Tokyo.

Tevfik was very hungry after the Trump Organization collaboration.

He and the Trump Organization looked into constructing similar structures in Arizona and Florida with the same licensing conditions, but the timing could be better.

While the two companies were discussing their next move as they were planning their next move, the American real property market was devastated by the 2008 global financial crisis.

Bayrock The financial crisis impacted the American market for real estate so severely that Tevfik was compelled to leave the United States to focus on Europe, Asia and other countries.

Tevfik arif is an advisor for the Bayrock Group advisor, has largely left the Bayrock Group.
