<p class="p__2">The Chariot. Picture credit: Phoenix Rose This comes from the Apophenia Tarot by Steven Archer. The deck's plain images is captivating, in my viewpoint. When I was gifted the deck I did not know much about Archer. The deck had no guide book and on his website the artist said there would never ever be a book.</p>

<p class="p__3">Archer stated that he just produced the deck since his fans kept pushing for it, that he himself is an artist and not into tarot at all. The cards are a fan bit and nothing more. The title, apophenia, makes a lot sense given his statement. As someone who has read tarot for half of my life I can see how, as an artist, Archer did an excellent job with this deck.</p>

<p class="p__4">One card in specific struck me. The Chariot. Pictured is JFK, Read More Here is not with him, however the Lincoln Continental, the grassy knoll, and arrows indicate his assassination. What does this relate to the standard image and symbolism of The Chariot? I started my search on the now defunct Aeclectic Tarot online forum to obtain an ounce of insight into this deck.</p>

<p class="p__5">Some could not find the connection between JFK and the Chariot meanwhile others discovered it in bad taste. A couple of non-Americans were not fazed due to the fact that their patriotism lays in other places. Some even presumed as to state they would never buy this deck, would not even wish to read using this deck because of the Chariot card.</p>

<p class="p__6">As a Canadian, I am well conscious of JFK's impact and long lasting credibility, however I feel no offense to his image being used; I just need to know how I can associate the apparently unassociated significance. First things initially, the conventional meaning of the Chariot. This card has to do with triumph and success, not the dumb-luck kind, the kind that comes of effort and determination.</p>
